Sales Manager x3 (South) – Botswana Life Insurance

Job Description

Job Purpose

To drive exceptional sales activities and world class customer service within the assigned business in line with agreed budgets and strategic objectives so as to maximize profitability and growth.  This includes new business acquisition and maintenance activities though leadership and management of a team of professional sales Team, and to continually recruit, Train, Accredit, Develop, Coach and Support this team for higher productivity.

Key Performance Areas

  • Drives exceptional sales performance for the  business for target attainment
  • Draws strategies on acquisition of new clients and ensures achievement of set objectives
  • Tracking of sales activity and overall performance of the business
  • Allocates sales leads  to designated FA and obtain feedback of conversion or non-conversion.  Give monthly reporting on leads conversion.
  • Motivates and communicates sales competitions to FA’s to increase sales productivity in the team
  • Supervises take-up of the new sales platform in the team and the compliance to sales IT processes and procedures.

  • Ensures that the new business issuing processes are being implemented and adhered to in the team.
  • Accounts for the profitability and success of the sales team in line with the regional business plans
  •  Leads a culture of high performance within portfolio of FA’s through transactional and motivational leadership, ensuring that the sales team meet sales goals, is supported, trained, up-skilled, performance managed and rewarded appropriately.
  • Manage the penetration of new worksite and maximize the business that can be written in an existing worksite.
  • Recruit suitable sales people that meet the requirements of a FA position as to build an effective sales team
  •  Conduct  Branch Induction and Orientation with the newcomer in week One of their appointment.
  • Manages the strict compliance to the relevant regulatory and legislative requirements that is applicable and impacts FA’s.
  • Report any FA who is failing to meet regulatory requirements and who might put a compliance risk on the team, region and company.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional Qualification in Sales and Marketing
  • COP mandatory
  •  5 years post qualification related experience in the Sales and Marketing
