Position Overview
The Human Resources Business Partner – Projects will be responsible for partnering with assigned business functions to translate operational priorities into practical people solutions and ensuring effective delivery of HR services. Providing advisory support to line management and employees across workforce planning, recruitment, HR governance and people analytics, while coordinating HR activities with other HR specialist in supporting, managing people risks and promoting an engaged, capable and productive workforce.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Your key accountabilities include:
- Partnering with assigned Heads of Department and line managers to understand operational priorities and translate people requirements into practical HR actions and support.
- Coordinating departmental manpower planning, workforce reviews and organisational structure updates and providing accurate recommendations and information to the Senior HR Business Partner.
- Supporting and coordinating recruitment, selection, internal mobility, promotions, transfers and onboarding activities for assigned departments in line with approved manpower plans and recruitment governance.
- Advising line management and employees on HR policies, procedures, employment conditions and applicable labour legislation and escalating complex or high-risk matters when required.
- Monitoring employee absenteeism, turnover, retention risks and other people indicators and recommending appropriate interventions.
- Supporting organisational change, restructuring, role changes and workforce deployment initiatives by coordinating consultation, documentation and implementation activities.
- Conducting regular engagement meetings with assigned departments and maintaining effective relationships with leaders, employees and relevant stakeholders.
- Analysing HR data and workforce metrics and preparing accurate reports, insights and recommendations to support decision-making and escalation to the Senior HR Business Partner.
- Maintaining accurate HR documentation and employee information and ensuring transactions and changes are supported by appropriate approvals and audit trails.
- Supporting policy and procedure reviews by identifying operational gaps, providing business feedback and assisting with implementation and awareness activities.
- Coordinating with Recruitment, HRIS, Payroll, Training and Development and other HR specialists to ensure integrated and timely delivery of people services to assigned departments.
- Supporting employee engagement, communication, retention, diversity and capability-building initiatives within assigned business areas.
- Escalating complex, sensitive or material people risks to the Senior HR Business Partner with clear background, analysis and recommended actions.
- Partnering with hiring managers to define position requirements, competencies, selection criteria and appropriate sourcing strategies for approved vacancies.
- Developing and implementing recruitment strategies aligned with operational priorities, manpower plans, workforce requirements and business needs.
- Facilitating the process of job descriptions writing and ensuring that all approved positions from the manpower have approved and updated job descriptions.
- Participating in compiling the departmental budget and costing metrics.
Minimum Qualifications, Competencies and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology or related field.
- Additional qualifications or certification in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Labour Law or related area would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years’ progressive Human Resources experience, including HR Business Partnering or broad HR Generalist experience.
- Practical experience in recruitment and workforce planning.
- Experience advising line managers and managing HR cases and processes independently.
- Experience using HR Information Systems and producing HR reports and workforce analysis.
- Mining, resources or operational environment experience would be advantageous
