The National Arts Council of Botswana is a body corporate established under the provisions of the National Arts Council of Botswana Act, No. 10 of 2020. The Council’s mandate is to develop, promote and protect the creative and cultural sector of Botswana through policy, legislation, industry facilitation and various partnerships, programmes, grants and initiatives. The Council aims to transform the local creative and cultural sector by nurturing creative excellence and preserving the Nation’s rich cultural traditions with the ultimate goal of building an inclusive, sustainable and prosperous sector.

HUMAN CAPITAL AND ADMINISTRATION MANAGER

Role Purpose

Accountable to the Director, Corporate Services, the Human Capital and Administration Manager is responsible for:

  • Planning, coordinating, and managing the Council’s Human Capital (HC) and administration department including but not limited to recruitment and selection, administering pay, benefits, and leave, employee relations and welfare, performance management, learning and development and employee engagement.

Key Performance Areas

  • Development and implementation of Human Capital strategies, budgets, plans and policies; Adherence to Human Capital policies and terms and conditions of employment;
  • The ability to attract, motivate and retain talent within the Council;
  • Engaged and productive staff,
  • Dynamic and performance driven Council culture;
  • Effective learning and development programmes;
  • Efficient and effective administration services; Achievement of strategic goals and targets within set timelines and budgets.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
  • A minimum often (10) years post qualification experience in the Human Resources field with at least (5) years’ experience at supervisory and/ or managerial level.
  • Experience leading, establishing and implementing human resources policies, processes, systems and internal controls is essential.
