VACANCY: CHIEF ADMINISTRATION OFFICER I

Applications are invited from suitably qualified, experienced and highly motivated citizens of Botswana for the above position in the Ministry of Minerals and Energy (MME) under the Department of Corporate Services, Strategy Management Office.
Salary Scale: D3 (P279.660 – P308.328) per annum
Leave: 30 working days per annum.
Benefits: Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme
(Government pays 50% and employee pays 50%).
Contributory pension scheme for permanent and pensionable appointments. (Government pays 15% and employee pays 5%)
Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Social Sciences or Strategic Management or equivalent
Experience: A minimum of eight (8) years post qualification experience in a performance management or change management related area, of which two (2) years should have been served at D4 salary scale.

Main Purpose of the Job:

To monitor and manage the implementation of reform initiatives introduced by Government and provide general assistance to the Ministry on performance related issues.

Key Performance Areas:

1.Facilitates implementation of the Ministry’s strategic plan initiatives and annual performance plans.
2.Monitors implementation of the Ministry Annual Performance Plan (APP) and contributes to its review.
3.Coordinates and facilitates implementation of Employee Performance Management initiatives as introduced from time to time.
4.Offer advice and guidance on the development of individual performance plans and performance reviews in line with the Ministry’s overall strategy and also submits reports on the same.
5.Provides in-house training/sensitization of performance management initiatives and reforms introduced by the Government or the Ministry.
6.Monitor the Ministry overall performance and evaluates performance reports on the same.
7.Implements the Ministry change management strategy.
8.Manage and monitor utilization of the budget under the Performance Improvement Unit
9.Offers secretarial services to the Ministry Performance Improvement Committee (MPIC).
10.Performs any other related duties as required to meet exigencies of the service.
