Description
The Treasury Back Office Team Leader position is responsible for aligning business objectives with Treasury deliverables. The position supports Treasury Front Office to deliver value added services to customers and counterparties, which reflect the business objectives of the organization.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Ensuring that all Interbank deals and all queries relating to Treasury Back Office messages are resolved and escalated to the relevant stake holders.
  • Settle deals when due and confirm transactions in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all prepared returns are released in good time to meet deadlines and all bear appropriate authorizations before release.
  • Ensuring that the Forex Open Position Reconciliation process is in place and adhered to.
  • Escalate issues with Treasury  front Office team on interbank matters.
  • Keep abreast of local market developments/sanctions etc. which could have a direct bearing or change to procedures or reporting requirements and ensure that these requirements are communicated to Management and subordinate staff and implemented in a timely and effective manner.
  • Pro-actively refine procedures and improve the process risk environment.
  • Ensures all reconciliations of Nostro accounts and provide details to resolve outstandings.
  • Ensure that the team aligns closely with the Treasury Front  Office  staff  and  ensure compliance to policy and procedures.
  • Escalates issues  that relates to  all systems and equipment in case of malfunction  by maintaining communication with all the support mechanisms.
  • Ensures strict adherence/compliance to internal policies & procedures, local exchange.
  • Authorize Pledge BAB collateral security in three sessions.
  • Ensures the Money Market reconciliation report is correctly prepared .Check that outstanding customer deals are escalated to the relevant stakeholder.

Requirements

Minimum Qualification:

  • Business Related Degree
  • ACI Settlement certificate will be an added advantage

Experience:

  • At least five (5) years post qualification experience in Treasury Back Office three (3) of which must have been at supervisory  level.
