The National Arts Council of Botswana is a body corporate established under the provisions of the National Arts Council of Botswana Act, No. 10 of 2020. The Council’s mandate is to develop, promote and protect the creative and cultural sector of Botswana through policy, legislation, industry facilitation and various partnerships, programmes, grants and initiatives. The Council aims to transform the local creative and cultural sector by nurturing creative excellence and preserving the Nation’s rich cultural traditions with the ultimate goal of building an inclusive, sustainable and prosperous sector.

STRATEGY PLANNING AND MONITORING MANAGER

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Strategy and Research, the Strategy Planning and Monitoring Manager is responsible for:

  • Strategy development and reporting, project management and monitoring and evaluation in order to facilitate the achievement of the Council mandate and objectives.

Key Performance Areas

  • Management and monitoring of strategy development and implementation and stakeholder engagements;
  • Adoption and integration of strategic plans across the Council;
  • Timely availability of reports on corporate performance and project progress;
  • Monitoring and tracking of economic, business, social, political and technological trends to inform strategy imperatives; Achievement of strategic goals and targets within set timelines and budgets.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in strategic management, business administration, commerce, economics or related field.
  • An additional qualification in project management, monitoring and evaluation or related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years post qualification experience in strategic management and project management.
  • Proven experience in strategy development, planning, performance monitoring and reporting. Experience in monitoring and evaluation methods and techniques would be an added advantage.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience at supervisory and/or managerial level.
