The Botswana Defence Force is looking forward to employ suitably qualified Non-Uniformed Personnel for the following position:

  1. SENIOR COURT REPORTER C2 X1 TENABLE IN SSKB

Qualifications Diploma in Court Reporting or Secretarial Studies. Higher National Diploma in Secretarial Studies will be an added advantage Experience at least 2 years’ service as Court Reporter C3 salary scale

Salary scale C2(P 141, 792– P 168,576) per annum

Leave 25 working days per annum.

Job purpose

Provide Court Reporting services to ensure smooth and efficient court operations in the BDF.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Plan the scheduling of Court Reporters to ensure sufficient coverage for all required court room proceedings.
  2. Create verbatim transcripts of court proceedings for future reference.
  3. Monitor the preparation of transcripts prepared by Court Reporters to ensure accuracy and compliance with rules and regulations.
  4. Oversee the maintenance and storage of Court Reporter records to ascertain security and confidentiality.
  5. Develop and maintain operational guidelines to ensure operational efficiency of the Court Martial.
  6. Compile documents and materials required by the Judicial Officer in the Court for meetings and appointments.
  7. Research cases cited in the court sessions to ensure accurate citations and quotations in preparation for judgments.
