POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS ROLE

  • Accounting Supervisor-Payables, Fixed Assets and Leases.
  • Accounting Supervisor-Reporting, Taxes, Cash & Bank.
  • Accounting Supervisor-Revenue, Receivables and Inventory.

MAIN / PRINCIPAL MISSIONS

  • Coordinate and supervise accounting activities of the company.
  • Assessing the financial implications of the new or existing ventures.
  • Responsible for establishing and implementing accounting internal controls.
  • Perform controls and ensure consistency, reliability & quality of information.
  • Design and develop policies for the implementation of the finance strategies and practices within the business.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements (tax).
  • Optimize the revenue leakage management function.
  • Preparing accounts and reconciling balance sheets.
  • Monitoring cash flow by projecting, planning, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ensuring that there are adequate resources to meet operating needs, liaison with financial institutions, bank account signatories, and accounts payable and receivable.
  • Develop accurate and quality financial statements consistent with IFRS.

MAIN / PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES

  • Financial Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage budget (revenue and cost) to drive strategic intent. Analyse, interpret and provide opinion on financial results/reports.
  • Financial Analysis: In-depth understanding and ability to analyse trends. Provide expert commentary and opinions on how ratios, trends, business and value drivers interact.
  • Financial Control: Knowledge and understanding of the requirements of an efficient and effective financial control environment.
  • Management Accounting: Timely reporting of the business performance incorporating with the necessary analysis, ratios and trends. Managing of various projects funding and ensuring that milestones are completed on time, within budget.
  • Tax Management: Provide expert knowledge and application of tax laws in the business. Calculation of all taxes due, timeous submission of all returns and payments, monitoring of tax status and resolution of disputes/issues.
  • Fixed Assets Management: Design fixed Assets manual, processes and plans. Provide expert knowledge on procurement, disposal, re-distribution and sale of fixed assets.
  • Strategic planning: Provide direction to the company’s strategic financial planning and support initiatives. Direct and monitor implementation of strategic plans to ensure proper and timely execution. Analysis of financial performance and profitability (ROI, cost of capital), budgets, forecasts, variance analysis
  • Revenue and Assurance: Be conversant with revenue assurance function and be able to identify revenue leakages. Make recommendations on how to curb the leakage areas.
  • Reporting: Monthly reporting to CFO on the performance of the organisation.
  • Financial Risk Management: Analyse and identify monthly, quarterly and biannual trends, spikes and anomalies across various risk areas in order to formulate appropriate action plans to mitigate or reduce risk. Ability to prepare risk register.
  • People Management: Ensuring finance team is appropriate and adequately structured and skilled, performance management and personal development plans, coaching and training. Provide team with a clear sense of direction, inspires and coordinates others and keeps them focused on results mentoring.
  • Perform cross sub department functions as delegated by the CFO.

REQUIREMENTS

Academic level:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent or Post graduate (ACCA/CIMA)
  • Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Minimum experience:

  • Minimum eight (8) years’ experience in financial roles covering the whole accounting cycle.
  • Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)

SKILLS NEEDED

  • Excellent knowledge in Accounting and Finance (Local accounting and tax rules-International financial reporting standards (IFRS’S)
  • Familiar with Oracle accounting software.
  • Attention to fine details.
  • Superior numerical accuracy.
  • Leadership/people management skills.
  • Knowledgeable on various accounting and financial techniques (Financing, investments, processes)
