Job Description

PURPOSE
The Finance Manager oversees the Revenue and Receivables process and the preparation of the financial statements of the Chobe Holdings Group and reports to Finance Director ensuring that the Group has an effective finance function in place.
We are looking to hire a suitably qualified, innovative, hard-working and self-driven professional for this position of Finance Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Overseeing the Group’s Revenue Assurance process
• Credit control and customer management
• Supervision on reconciliations between reservation system and accounting system on monthly basis
• Building positive relationships with agents through continuous communication and meeting their expectations within the agreed time frames
• Preparation of monthly management accounts
• Finalisation of monthly VAT reconciliations and returns
• Preparation and management of annual budgets and cashflow projections
• Approval of payment requisitions
• Generating financial related reports and analysis from reservations system
• Preparation of company and consolidated financial statements
• Ensuring positive team member relationships and work environment by coaching and training of team members
• Continuous research and analysis on new technical developments, accounting issues related to industry and update team members as necessary
• Handling annual external audits of the group of companies

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Hold a Degree in Finance/Accounting
• Be a member of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants
• 7 years of post-qualification experience.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and cost control principles.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution.
• Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems.
• Ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial statements, and projections.
• Good command of professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality deliverables within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
• Work requires willingness to work overtime and flexible schedule.
