Job Description

PURPOSE
The Finance Director (“FD”) is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business and drive the company’s financial strategy and planning. This includes budgeting, financial reporting, training and development of finance department, management of the Group’s financial operations as well implementation of policies.
We are looking to hire a suitably qualified, innovative, hard-working and self-driven professional for this position of Finance Director.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide strategic and financial guidance to ensure that company’s financial commitments arc met.
• Lead financial planning and strategy.
• Financial analysis, including forecasting, budgeting and cash flow management.
• Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and statutory financial statements.
• Develop strategies to increase return on investment and long-term financial health of the Group.
• Oversee and review financial reporting, payroll, taxes and related regulatory compliance.
• Develop and implement comprehensive financial policies and procedures.
• Develop and implement internal financial controls to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and safeguarding of company assets.
• Direct and manage staff of the finance department to ensure they are appropriately motivated and developed to carry out their responsibilities at expected standard.
• Monitor key performance indicators and advise on corrective actions.
• Report to CEO and audit committee and keep them informed of important financial matters.
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the finance department.

 

REQUIREMENTS

• Associate or fellow membership of Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants or CA/ACCA qualification which enables to obtain BICA membership (ACPA) upon application.
• Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or related field.
• 10+ years experience in accounting field.
• Experience in a senior management position.
• Understand financial reporting and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to build strong working relationships among executives, partners, and the finance department.
• Ability to multi-task and time management.
• Understanding of human resources and personnel management.
• Experience in corporate governance.
• Ability to understand new issues and identify solutions.
• Ability to work under pressure, plan personal workload effectively, and delegate.
