Job Summary

Applications are invited from suitable highly motivated and self-driven citizens for the position of Executive Director tenable at Thuto Boswa Rehabilitation Centre in Ramotswa (3-year contract).

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for planning, organization and direction of the organization’s operations and learning programs in consultation with the relevant stakeholders (Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education, Botswana Qualification Authority -BQA etc.)
  • Develops and implements consistent inventory and cost accounting, policies, procedures and operational reporting/matrices.
  • Oversees and reports on the organization’s results to the Board of Governors and Ministry Of Child Welfare and Basic Education.
  • Prepares accurate and timely analyses that capture and communicate fundraising results, variances, and performance trends.
  • Provides leadership to and manages the efforts of staff to ensure appropriate support of all departments.
  • Supervises the development of operations-based financial modeling.
  • Coordinates and leads annual budget reviews, monthly and quarterly reviews, periodic forecast updates with operational activities in the Centre and Board of Governors for approval and subsequent transmission of the same to the Director, Department of Learner Support Services (DLSS) under the Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education.
  • Approves major systems implementations related to cost and inventory control.
  • Retains a diverse, highly qualified staff and volunteers by providing career coaching, growth and personal developments for workers.
  • Ensures that service and funding relationships are robust enough to meet or exceed strategic goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation and monitoring & evaluation of programs.
  • Ensures strict adherence to Government Financial Regulations to non-governmental organizations.
  • Compiles and submits quarterly progress reports.
  • Assists in resource mobilization as directed by the Board of Governors.
  • Undertakes any other duties as may be directed by the Board of Governors and Ministry of Child Welfare and Basic Education.

Requirements

Applicants should have a minimum Degree in Special Education/Bachelor of Education (Primary/Secondary), Social Sciences (Public Administration, Psychology, Sociology or Economics, Social Work) Human Resource Management. A minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience of which 2 years should have been served as Manager or Director in a comparable institution. Experience working with people with disabilities and proven management record will be an added advantage. Applicants should be between the age of forty (40) and fifty-nine (59).

Salary

BWP221,076.00-BWP243,684.00 per annum
