The Ministry of Environment and Tourism’s overall goal is to develop and implement policies, strategies, and programs to provide leadership and professional guidance on all matters pertaining to the conservation and management of the country’s environment and its natural resources for sustainable development and tourism.

COORDINATOR- MULTILATERAL ENVIRONMENTAL AGREEMENTS – (DEPARTMENT OF CORPORATE SERVICES) -El
Salary Scale: El – (P487, 752 – P507,480) per annum.
Benefits/Terms of Employment
I. Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme
(Government pays 50% and the employee pays 50%).
II. ii) A contract of 24 to 36 months with gratuity at the rate of 30% payable upon the expiry of the contract.
Leave 30 working days per annum.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science /Environmental Engineering/ Business Administration, Economics, Project Management, Environmental Law or related field.
A Master’s Degree in the above-mentioned disciplines will be an added advantage

Experience:

Applicants must have a minimum of at least sixteen (16) years’ experience in the field of Environmental Conservation, two (2) years of which should have been served at E2 salary scale or Deputy Head of Department in the field of environmental conservation or equivalent level in a reputable private or public institution.

Main Purpose of the Job
To coordinate and guide the implementation of multilateral agreements for sustainable environmental utilization and management.

Key Performance Areas

⦁ Interprets national policies and guides in the adoption and implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
⦁ Interprets and guides the implementation of international and regional declarations/obligations across sectors/organizations to ensure policies and programs enhance the attainment of sustainable environmental utilization and management.
⦁ Monitors the implementation of approved resolutions, decisions and action plans adopted from the Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
⦁ Develops legislation, regulations and frameworks for efficient and effective implementation and prepares instruments for ratification.
⦁ Provides advice on national, regional, and international obligations and requirements in relation to Multilateral Environmental Agreements and on all issues pertaining to funding and Multilateral Environmental Agreements.
⦁ Assesses and guides the Ministry on Multilateral Environmental Agreement implications and requirements of joining environment-related international conservation conventions an organizations.
⦁ Assesses feasibility, and monitors and evaluates the implementation of all ongoing Multilateral Environmental Agreements related projects in the country.
⦁ Liaises with Departments to ensure coordinated implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements and establishes linkages with national and international sector-specific organizations.
⦁ Generates reports and program updates for sharing both nationally and internationally on Multilateral Environmental Agreements and monitors maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records.
