To coordinate the implementation of sport, arts, and culture programmes and projects at the district level.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advises advocates and interprets legislation, policy, regulations, and guidelines to local authorities and development partners on matters related to sport, arts, and culture.
  • Coordinates and facilitate implementation of sport, arts, and culture programmes and projects (festivals, competitions, workshops, exhibitions, etc.) at the district level.
  • Promotes inclusivity and mainstreaming of gender, youth, and persons with disability in the implementation of Sport, Arts and Culture programmes.
  • Facilitates sport, arts, and cultural infrastructure and facilities development and maintenance within the district. (e.g., cultural centres, stadiums, art studios, etc.)
  • Strengthens collaboration with key stakeholders (local authorities, schools, clubs, community groups, etc.) for sport, arts, and culture programme implementation.
  • Promotes public awareness on the value of sport, arts and culture in socio-economic development.
  • Liaises with sport, arts, and culture agencies, institutions, communities, and practitioners in the identification and nurturing of young talent in sport, arts, and culture.
  • Mobilises financial and technical support from potential partners and sponsors.
  • Monitors adherence to sport, arts, and culture regulatory frameworks by the companies, associations, clubs, and individuals at the district level.
  • Monitors implementation of procurement plans and budget utilisation.
  • Undertakes any other related duties as required to meet the exigencies of the service.

Requirements

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Custodianship, Film and Television, Heritage Management, Discourse in Arts, Sports Science, Sports Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Strategic Management, Physical Education, or related field.
A minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in sport, arts and culture environment, two years of which should have been served at D2 Salary Scale.

Salary
D1 (P 386,892 – P 426,660) per annum
