Job Description

Gaborone City Council (GCC), Civil and Mechanical Engineering Services Department-roads division is responsible for construction and maintenance of roads so that there is a smooth riding of traffic/traffic flow. In order to archive this, the roads division would like to pave some of their roads, storm water drain and repair of some damaged pavements in Gaborone throughout the 2026/2027 financial years. This will be as when the need arises due to limited funding. Procuring Entity’s objective to have road works in a time and efficiently so as to render timely community services. In line with Government’s priority to create jobs for the marginalised group (youth, People living with disability (PLWD) and women), Gaborone City Council would like to engage Youth Individuals, People living with disability – PLWD and Women within the locality of Gaborone for the provision of Labour only services for Paving of both Roads, Storm water drain and road markings areas around Gaborone at the below fixed rates;

Key Responsibilities

  • Paving roads, storm water drains, and repairing damaged pavements
  • Performing concrete work, plastering, kerbstone painting, block work, stock brick work, laying pre-cast concrete kerbs, interlocking pre-cast concrete paver bricks, and concrete paver slabs
  • Ensuring quality and timely completion of tasks

Requirements

  • Experience in bricklaying and painting
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Compliance with safety regulations
