Underground Mining Jumbo Operators (x3 Positions) – Redpath Botswana
Job Description
Redpath is the world’s premier full-service underground mining contractor. Redpath Botswana are excited to be looking for three (3) Jumbo Operators for the new Jwaneng Underground Mining Development Project.
The position:
The role as a Jumbo Operator is to be responsible for operating the jumbo according to the site procedures and instructions given by the shift supervisor
Main duties and responsibilities:
• Safely and efficiently operate the jumbo for development driving, installing ground support, boring cable bolt holes, probe holes and any other work that is required
• Complete face mark-up sheets for each development face you bore and mark-up
• Identify and promote suggestions to increase productivity and/or reduce operating costs.
• Prepare the workplace for the oncoming shift person to continue operations without interference or obstruction
• Complete a “plod” at the end of each shift outlining the work completed during the shift
Minimum qualifications and experience required for this position:
• Driver’s Licence
• First Aid & CPR certificate
• Minimum 5 years’ experience operating a Jumbo
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in Underground Mining
• Experience in operation of “i” series Sandvik Drills
• Proven Safe and reliable operation of Jumbo to meet or exceed production requirements
