Technical Plant Manager (x3 Positions) – Kgalagadi Breweries Limited

Kgalagadi Breweries Ltd is a locally owned beer beverages manufacturing and distribution company with sites in Gaborone, Palapye and Francistown.

We invite suitable applicants to apply for the role of TECHNICAL (PLANT) MANAGER based at our Gaborone Beer Production plant overseeing both the Clear Beer and Traditional African Breweries plants (Gaborone x2 and Francistown x1).

Job Purpose:

Manage the Maltings team & processes to achieve targets including delivery of high efficiencies, managed costs, safe and pleasant working environment, high quality malt through the implementation of plant optimization processes and people management practices as the means to deliver results and key KPIs (i.e. Gross Line Yield, Water usage, Safety, Customer Complaints).

Key roles and responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver on targets, through plant optimization processes
• Plants sustainability and continuous improvement. KPI’s improvements year on year, trying to reach World Class results
• Manage costs and losses across the business driving improvement plans and problem solving to achieve in specification losses
• Responsible for the delivery, execution and managing the performance of plant optimization processes the site
• Drive plant performance through means and results.
• Develop people and manage the workforce by applying our culture and principles
• People’s integrity, Health & well being, People’s Skills and Career Development
• Manage external stakeholders relationship

Qualification & Skills:

1. Appropriate Professional qualification in a related field. (Min: BSc Degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry or Chemical. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering)
2. Specialisation in brewing, packaging or malting, and/or
3. Specialisation in Quality Management systems, laboratory management and skills management Experience:

1. At least 5 – 10 years relevant experience, of which 3-5 years’ operating at a management level.
2. Demonstrated experience in driving commercial decisions in a manufacturing organization (financial, operational, people)
3. Ability to drive performance results showing a good track record

People Management Skills:

1. Solid understanding of performance management practices
2. Ability to lead cross-functional teams
3. Good communication skills and the ability to communicate across all levels.
4. Coaching and mentoring skills

Other:

1. Extremely high level of literacy and numeracy
2. Strong analytical skills and knowledge and understanding of manufacturing costs and cost drivers
3. High level of verbal and written skills
4. Computer literacy
