Main Purpose of the Job

Responsible for the procurement, storage, printing, encoding and issuing of debit and credit cards for customers. The Supervisor, Card Management promotes greater efficiencies across card processing operation and promotes best practice for card security.

Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with Manager, Card Management to design and oversee the effective implementation of card operations policies and procedures.
  2. Work with Manager, Card Management to balance card processing among various processors and develop and implement approaches to improve debit and credit card collection rates.
  3. Engage with all levels of the organisation on a daily basis in order to coordinate, monitor, and provide assistance with all aspects of daily card processing, reconciliations, collections and fraud review.
  4. Serve as primary contact for Merchant Processor relationships. This includes varying payment processing companies – credit card (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) domestically and internationally, check processing providers and private label cards.
  5. Interact with Payment Card Industry for Data Security (PCI) compliance providers, accounts receivable service providers and other banks and assist with PCI compliance initiatives throughout the organisation.
  6. Ensure validity and settlement of all card deposits including debit and credit cards.
  7. Analyse new payment methodologies for decreased processing costs and efficient processing and propose payment processing alternatives to management.
  8. Implement and provide guidance for new system integration and payment processing framework.
  9. Manage resolution efforts on credit card declines.
  10. Evaluate and improve chargeback response and analyse percentages by product type.
  11. Manage Subscription billing and recurring payment systems and provide various monthly reports to management on collection efforts and cash flow.
  12. Manage Single Use Credit Card website interface for secure vendor payments.
  13. Monitor membership write-off and cancellations and coordinate with sales teams and collections.
  14. Provide guidance for Operations and Finance functions when necessary.
  15. Ensure the issue and reissue of credit and debit cards and the resetting of card pins happens in accordance with organisational standards and timelines.
  16. Serve as the first point of escalation for customer complaints related to cards.
  17. Ensure Pins and cards are dispatched to branches in a lockable containers.
  18. Check and authorise card applications and data files as and when captured.
  19. Liaise with EDP for issues relating to cards.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Banking, Finance, Administration, Operations Management, Strategic management or related area

Experience:

  • Three (3) years’ experience in banking operations
