STRATEGY SPECIALIST(x1)
In its pursuit to become a Competitive Commercial Power Utility within the Region, Botswana Power Corporation invites applications from suitably qualified, highly energetic, dynamic, result oriented, innovative, and customer focused individuals, who believe they can be part of a great team that delivers power to Botswana to apply for the below listed position not later than 31 July 2022.
Main purpose of the position
To coordinate & manage Strategy Formulation, Cascading and Communication, Alignment, Deployment, operational reviews, monitoring & reporting to enable successful implementation of the Corporation’s Strategic Plan.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinates the planning for the development of the Strategy
- Determining organizational resource requirement for meeting the Corporate goals and objectives.
- Develops, Cascades and deploys the Corporate Strategy.
- Manages the execution of the Corporate Strategy.
- Facilitate cascading of departmental scorecards & alignment to the Corporate Scorecard.
- Monitor implementation of the departmental scorecards & report on periodic performance. Scorecards alignment
- Contributes to the development of the sectional budget
- Establishes and maintains detailed project plans and budgets for each project and/or initiative
- Compliance to Budgets
- Costs reduction
- Prepares and presents reports on Strategy performance as per the set timeframes.
- Advise Management on the action plans emanating from Strategy performance reports & communicate the same to relevant departments. Business Reports
- Implement sectional change management activities as assigned within the Section
- Continuously inform employees on relevant changes and developments within BPC as related to the projects and initiatives
- Coordinate assigned projects and initiatives with change activities across the Corporation to ensure alignment and efficiency in implementation.
- Implementation of Change Management Plans
- Monitors and reports on Strategy implementation
- Conducts Operational Reviews and Assessments as per the set timelines.
- Develop action plans resulting from the operational reviews & recommend to Management the proposed interventions.
- Develops and oversees measures/indicators related to outcomes of the strategic planning process.
- Manages the regular balanced scorecard review meetings by providing reports on KPIs and key initiatives.
- Manages various pieces of the overall strategy deployment – including surveys, training and strategic projects
- Implement the Department’s SHER initiatives by aligning the organisations safety, health and environment systems and protocols.
Qualifications
- A minimum of a relevant Bachelors degree in Commerce, Business Management from a recognised university or equivalent.
- Professional Qualification in Strategy Management (Balanced Scorecard) and Performance Management is an added advantage
Experience
- Minimum 5 years professional experience
- Experience in the field of Strategic Management, Cascading, Monitoring and Reporting, Strategy Reviews
