Main purpose of the position

To coordinate the planning, analysis and development of the Corporation’s Strategic Plans; translate these into actions; monitor corporation wide performance; and report on the execution of these strategies to enable business excellence.

Job Responsibilities

  • Coordinates the planning for the development of the Strategy
  • Determining organizational resource requirement for meeting the Corporate goals and objectives.
  • Develops, cascades, deploys and manages the Corporate Strategy.
  • Develops & monitor implementation of the sectional budget
  • Establishes and maintains detailed program budgets for the strategy management portfolio
  • Monitors, evaluates and reports progress and impact of strategic projects on business.
  • Prepares and present reports from time to time for the Strategy & Transformation Manager and support presentations to stakeholders (e.g. Ministry, BPC Management and Staff) as necessary
  • Coordinates and communicates sectional change management activities, and issue management efforts emanating from strategy implementation.
  • Continuously inform employees of relevant changes and developments within BPC as related to the programs and initiatives in relation to strategy management.
  • Coordinates assigned projects and initiatives with change activities across the Corporation to ensure alignment and efficiency in implementation.
  • Facilitates strategy programs and initiatives within defined performance standards
  • Develops & implements a Performance Management System & processes for Strategy Management
  • Cascade & align departmental scorecards to the Corporation’s strategic plan.
  • Collaborates and engages with senior executives across the business to provide deeper insights of the business dynamics for alignment purposes utilizing sector-based performance analysis, financial & business modeling, organizational business model analytics and research.
  • Monitors employee performance & improvement plans and coaches them as required using performance management systems and protocols.
  • Develop & implement Personal Development Plans (PDPs) for the team.
  • Manages Strategy risks by developing & implementing relevant interventions.
  • Coordinates resources across multiple departments in strategic planning efforts.
  • Liaises with technical/support staff to keep lines of communication open and ensure meaningful collaboration.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a relevant Bachelors degree in Commerce or Business Management from a recognised university or equivalent.
  • A post-graduate degree in Strategic Management and/ Additional Management qualifications will be an advantage

Experience

  • A minimum of 7 years post professional qualification experience in Strategy Management, Management Consulting & Leading Project Teams/work streams, of which 3years should have been at management level.
  • Experience in the field of Strategic Management, Corporate Performance Management, Business Model Development, Research, Analysis and Programme Management is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience of planning and managing resources to deliver predetermined objectives.
