– STEMMING LOADER OPERATOR (6 YEAR CONTRACT)
Core Responsibilities
• Safely operate the Stemming Loader for stemming operations, as per the company’s Operating Instruction
• Stemming operation on time
• Stemming Loader Housekeeping
• Perform Stemming Loader front line maintenance (e.g. greasing, weekly Maintenance)
• Safety, Health, Environment and Quality standards implementation and compliance
• Compliance to the regulatory and statutory requirements
• Adherence to the customer’s traffic management system/plan
• Assist the maintenance team during Stemming Loader breakdowns and Services
• Stemming Loader Pre start checks and fault reporting
• On-bench conditions assessments prior to stemming
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Requirements
The incumbent should have the following:
• At least a Cambridge O’ Level/ BGCE certificate or equivalent
• At least 6 years’ experience in a Prime, Load, Tie and Shoot (PLTS) Open Pit environment
• At least 1 year experience in operating a Stemming Loader of any size
• Be in possession of valid class B Driver’s License
• Be a Botswana Citizen
• Must be fluent in both Setswana and English
• Knowledge of and experience in AECI electronic blasting products is an added advantage
• Experience in an open pit mine is an added advantage
• Good understanding of the Explosives Act and, the Mines, Works, Quarries and Machinery Act (MQWM) and other relevant legislative requirements
