Job Description
The SHE Trainer will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering training programs that ensure employees and contractors have the knowledge, skills, and awareness to work safely, protect the environment, and comply with company standards and legal requirements.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key accountabilities include:
– Conducting safety, health, environmental, and community awareness training.
– Facilitating inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
– Assessing training needs and developing training plans and materials.
– Ensuring workforce competence through training, coaching, and practical assessments.
– Carrying out competency assessment including timely completion, correction, grading and capturing of results.
– Maintaining training records and competency matrices.
– Ensuring all necessary training resources are prepared in advance.
– Ensuring that Training Delivery Plans are available and adhered to.
– Developing, delivering and assessing training as per the relevant departmental skills matrices, training plans, specialization requirements.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE
– Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management or a related discipline.
– Accredited Trainer/Facilitator qualification (e.g., Train-the-Trainer Certificate, Assessor and/or Moderator certification).
– Minimum of 8 years’ experience as SHE practitioner in a mining industry/ heavy industry 5 of which should be as a Trainer.
– Strong ability to communicate to various groups of different nationalities.
