Senior Manager Security

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Managing Director, the position will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of security operations within the company. The role involves implementing effective security measures, preventing theft, fraud, and unauthorized access and serving as the custodian of the company’s Security Strategy.

The Job:

The incumbent will be responsible for, among others, the following:

  • Contributing to the corporate strategy by advising on security matters, as well as, developing and implementing strategies, plans and policies for Security Management.
  • Ensuring the security of people, assets, and inventory through effective management of physical security measures, such as access control systems and surveillance technologies.
  • Ensuring compliance with Security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and the Precious and Semi- Precious Stones Act.
  • Managing the security of diamond inventory, including vault security.
  • Leading the safe movement of goods during import and export, minimizing security risks during diamond shipments.
  • Enhancing the overall customer experience by providing secure movement for all visitors and mitigating security risks through a four-step security process.
  • Ensuring the Security Management Section is resourced with competent staff, achieve strategic goals, and promote continuous improvement.
  • Championing Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards within the Security Management Section.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, or, any Bachelor’s Degree, plus at least one Security related certification such as Physical Security Professional (PSP) and/or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and/or Certified Security Management Professional (CSMP) and/or, any other internationally recognized security professional certification.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years’ experience in security management, with at least five (5) years’ experience in a management role.
  • Certification in any area of leadership and/or management and/or strategic management or related areas of study shall be an added advantage.
