Gainville (Pty) Ltd T/A Pulse Pharmacy is seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented Senior Medical Transcriptionist with a minimum of 10 years of clinical transcription experience. The ideal candidate must possess an unparalleled command of advanced medical terminology and multi-specialty operative workflows.

Job Summary

Medical language specialist who interprets and transcribes dictation and even written dictations by physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient assessment, workup, therapeutic procedures, clinical course, diagnosis, prognosis, etc, in order to document patient care and facilities delivery of healthcare services. Prepares and edits documents when required by using transcription equipment and accomplishes work through word processing software and apply knowledge of orthopedic, radiology, podiatry and medical terminology as well as stores completed documents in medical records server.

Key Responsibilities

• Interprets and transcribes dictation and written dictations by physicians and healthcare professionals.
• Prepares and edits documents using transcription equipment and word processing software.
• Applies knowledge of orthopedic, radiology, podiatry, and medical terminology.
• Stores completed documents in medical records servers.
• Translates and edits complex recorded medical dictations into clear, highly accurate electronic medical records (EMR).

Requirements

• Certificate in medical transcription and an in-depth knowledge & experience in medical coding, healthcare administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of clinical transcription experience.
• Ability to transcribe accurately at 65+ words per minute.
• Experience in handling transcription software will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology, and various medical specialties.
• Good knowledge in ICD10 coding & Medical billing.
• Excellent written, oral communication & listening skills in English.
• Good confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information.
