Job Description

Thuto SACCOS has been awarded a contract to provide services in the financial sector and is seeking applications for the following positions: The Risk & Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining the Society’s enterprise risk management and compliance framework. The position provides independent oversight of organisational risks, ensures compliance with applicable legislation and regulatory requirements, and promotes a strong culture of governance, ethics and accountability throughout the Society, on a 3-5 years fixed term contract.

Key Responsibilities
– Developing and implementing the Society’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
– Conducting enterprise-wide risk assessments and recommending mitigation measures.
– Monitoring compliance with the Co-operative Societies Act, Financial Intelligence Act, Data Protection Act and other applicable legislation.
– Developing and reviewing risk management and compliance policies.
– Monitoring emerging regulatory developments and advising Management and the Board.
– Preparing risk and compliance reports for Management and the Board.
– Coordinating internal compliance reviews and investigations.
– Facilitating compliance awareness and risk management training.
– Supporting business continuity planning and organisational resilience.
– Liaising with regulators and external stakeholders on compliance matters.

Requirements
– Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management, Law, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
– A minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years’ relevant experience in Risk Management, Compliance, Internal Audit or Governance.
– Sound knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to financial institutions.
– Experience in enterprise risk management, compliance monitoring and policy development.
