Research and Publications Manager – National Arts Council of Botswana

Role Purpose

Reporting to the Director, Strategy and Research, the Research and Publications Manager is responsible for:

·       Planning, organising and managing activities of the Research function of the Council including research planning, execution, reporting, research advisory, sector advocacy and publishing.

Key Performance Areas

·       Relevant, up-to-date and timely research information and data.

·       Initiation and management of research projects.

·       Established research mechanisms that provide for analysis and high-quality research.

·       Adoption of findings and conclusions.

·       Publication in recognised journals.

·       Achievement of strategic goals and targets within set timelines and budgets.

Key Requirements

·       A Bachelor’s degree in Research, Public Policy Development, Education, Statistics or related field.

·       Ten (10) years post qualification experience in the research field of which three (3) years should have been spent leading and coordinating research in addition to developing and implementing research policies, procedures, plans.

·       At least (3) years’ experience at supervisory and/or managerial level.

·       Experience publishing journals, articles, reports and other literature in related research areas will be an added advantage.
