Abba Beef is a newly constructed medium throughput cattle processing abattoir based in Serowe along the Palapye-Serowe road. The main purpose of the Job:
Reporting to General Manager, the Officer shall be responsible for supervising the production process activities from driving cattle from lairages into slaughterhouses, the slaughter of cattle to carcass chilling, and dispatch in the most cost-effective manner to ensure achievement of set slaughter and carcass dispatch targets.

Key Performance Areas:
⦁ Maintains animal welfare standard requirements from cattle receipt to slaughter.
⦁ Implements slaughter of cattle procedures and related work instructions to ensure that products are produced according to specifications.
⦁ Liaison with Livestock Procurement and Sales & Marketing to enhance production and sales and marketing plans.
⦁ Liaison with Maintenance Technician for plant availability and adherence to planned maintenance.
⦁ Liaison with Compliance and Resident Competent Authority to ensure adherence to production specifications.
⦁ Maintains records reconcile daily summaries and calculates yields to ensure the availability of up-to-date information.
⦁ Supervises the training and rotation of staff to ensure the development of a multi-skilled workforce.
⦁ Creatively reviews production techniques to ensure efficiency and cost reduction.
⦁ Analyse records and trend the results to ensure adherence to set standards.
⦁ Good industrial relations and staff welfare.
⦁ Ensures compliance to abattoir and industry standards and regulations.

Qualification:
⦁ Diploma in Food Science and Technology or equivalent.
Experience:
⦁ At least (5) years of operational experience in the meat industry and knowledge of the meat processing abattoir and production management system.
