Job Description

The Botswana Defence Force is looking forward to employ suitably qualified Non-uniformed Personnel for the following positions:

 POSTS TENABLE WITHIN THE BDF

Degree of Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from a recognized institution

Active Advanced cardiac life support and Advanced trauma life support training shall be an added advantage.

At least two (2) years work expenence as Medical Officer D4 salary scale or equivalent.

D3 (P293.652 – P323.748) per annum.

30 working days per annum

Membership with Botswana Hearth Professions Council is mandatory and must be licensed to practice.

Benefits:

  1. Optional Contributory Medical Ato Scheme (Government pays 50% while Employee pays 50%).
  2. Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% white Employee pays 5%)
  3. Housing and Upkeep Allowance of P309.00 per month.
  4. Scarce skill allowance at 40% of basic salary.
  5. Doctors’ overtime allowance at 15% of basic salary.
  6. Doctors private practice allowance at 10% of basic salary.
  7. Emergency duty call allowance at 15% of basic salary.

Job purpose: To ensure provision of preventative, curative and rehabfitative health care sendees in the Botswana Defence Force.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide general medical consultations and holistic care to patients.
  2. Diagnose ailments and presenbe appropriate treatment, medications or interventions to ensure optimal recovery of patients.
  3. Coordinate health care policies and procedures to ensure compliance to set standards.
  4. Provide guidance on preventative hearth measures, diet and lifestyle choices to improve quaity of life.
  5. Review patients and continuously update findings and make referrals to relevant health care providers for further assessment where necessary.
  6. Provide Physicians with assistance during surgery or complicated medical procedures.
  7. Interprets Laboratory. Radiology and other health care provider’s results to the patient
  8. Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records to ensure continuity of care.
  9. Collaborate with nurses, specialists and other medical professionals for integrated patient care.
  10. Keep abreast with latest medical research, treatments and protocol (Current medical trends) for continuous improvement
