Botswana Unified Revenue Service (BURS) is a semi-autonomous organization of Government, responsible for assessing and collecting tax revenue as well as border administration. BURS invites dynamic, self- motivated and qualified citizens of Botswana to apply for the following post:

 – PRINCIPAL INTERNAL AUDITOR, IT SYSTEMS X 1

Main Purpose of the Job
To supervise and quality control the activities of an audit team in examining, checking reviewing, appraising and monitoring the activities of BURS’ information and communication technology systems to verify data integrity and veracity of reports, and ensure effectiveness and compliance with Information Technology standards and procedures to enhance the accuracy of data processing, and reports.

Key Performance Areas
1. Implementation of effective and efficient information systems audits
2. Enhancing efficiency as a result of implementation of Internal Audit recommendations.
3. Reduction in non-compliance arising out of Internal Audit interventions.
4. Follow-up on implementation of Audit recommendations by Management
5. Minimize risks arising out of utilization of ICT systems
6. Successful IT audit methodology outcomes
7. Minimized losses and external audit queries

Position Requirements:
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Audit or equivalent. Professional certification of Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) /Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) will be an added advantage.
Membership of an internationally recognized institutions such as Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), Information System Audit and Controls Association (ISACA), is desirable
Experience: At least four (4) years’ relevant post qualification experience, two (2) of which should have been at Senior Officer level or equivalent.

Salary: BURS 05 (P332, 448 – P443, 016 per annum)
