Education:Diploma in Electrical & Electronics/Control & Instrumentation / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

We are looking for a versatile, driven and dynamic individual to join our team as Maintenance Technician. The individual will execute the installations, maintenance and modifications of instrumentation in accordance to DTCB policies and procedures.

Key Activities:

• Maintains equipment using appropriate maintenance technologies to ensure optimum
equipment availability and reliability by:
• Identifying possible improvements & justifying the needs in operation.
• Detailing technical specifications.
• Testing & evaluating alternatives.
• Making recommendations towards the selection process.
• Effects the implementation of new systems & equipment taking cognisance of specifications by: –
• Performing detail design, device programming, configuration & calibration on equipment.
• Commissioning & installation of equipment (A&I, electrical, mechanical & communication).
• Optimises equipment life cycle by monitoring equipment performance and making corrective recommendations.
• Performs repairs, installations and any work required to set up, align or otherwise prepare for operation, all electronic and instrumentation equipment/systems in area of responsibility.
• Performs operational checks, monitors performance and related maintenance to identify and diagnose instrumentation and electronic performance problems.
• Plans for work to be done by:
• Obtaining all relevant permits and carrying out risk assessments before commencing.
• Providing information for the development of work schedules.
• Attends to all administrative functions of the position, taking cognisance of the need to create an audit trail by:
• Carrying out and observing all associated administrative and clerical procedures.
• Documenting problems, progress checking and ensuring all diagnostic information is provided for error resolution and incident analysis.
• Maintaining a log of calls and associated problems for reference.
• Completing job cards to the correct standard.
• Complying to all operational and engineering procedures related to tools, manuals,work practices.
• Identifies, plans, and executes projects in line with accepted project management principles to enhance, improve and optimize operations.
• Adheres to all safety health and environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
• Solves technical and operational issues in cooperation with relevant stakeholders.
• Implements the most effective solutions to drive efficiencies.
• Utilises broad knowledge across electrical engineering technical areas to select and apply relevant tools and to provide technical expertise in the resolution of electrical engineering issues.
• Optimises performance levels of assets through actively monitoring their operation and creating solutions to encourage sustainable use.
• Optimises productivity and quality targets through utilising Engineering knowledge and co-operating with multi- disciplinary teams highlighting areas of improvement.
• Manages, monitors, and drives project activities.
• Proactively escalates risks and proposes mitigating actions.
• Proactively identifies, monitors, and mitigates SHE risks in accordance with internal guidelines and external requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Diploma in Electrical & Electronics/Control & Instrumentation / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Must be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB)
• 3 years post qualifying experience or successful completion of the Technician Development Program (TDP).
