Human Resources Officer – Morupule Coal Mine

Job Description

Job Summary:  

Adheres to quality assurance and governance protocol/principles in area of Human Resources.

 

Key Activities:

  • Recommends and incorporate cost saving initiatives into budget and operates within approved parameters.
  • Provides a recruitment service to ensure that the Mine departments are optimally resourced.
  • Coordinates the total job evaluation process by guiding and advising line managers in the development of job descriptions and grading of jobs.
  • Implements the pay and benefits process in line with company pay and befits philosophy and in compliance with salary and payroll directives and ensures accuracy and timeliness.
  • Facilitates implementation of the performance management system in line with set standards.
  • Maintains the HR information system by inputting and extracting information from various systems and maintains employee records and other documentation.
  • Analyses human resources information to determine trends and produces reports.
  • Advises line managers, employee representatives and employees on the interpretation and application of company policies and procedures, collective agreements and labour laws.
  • Provides an employee relation service by facilitating the hearing of disciplinary and grievance matters and handling them within prescribed guidelines and monitoring any breaches on procedural and substantive fairness and advising on corrective action.
  • Facilitates the identification of training and developmental needs in order to develop training and development plans.
  • Conducts training and development interventions to ensure competent and skilled workforce.
  • Adheres to all safety, health and environmental policies and procedures in area of responsibility.
  • Identifies and implements creative and innovative ideas in order to improve the Mini Business Unit performance.
  • Maintains effective relationships clients/partners/customers to ensure achievement of Mini Business Unit objectives.
  • Takes responsibility for providing excellent services by developing self, applying skills, knowledge and experiences to improve and measure their own performance against set standards.

Minimum Education & Experience Requirements: 

  • Degree in Social Sciences.
  • 3 years post graduate experience in Human Resource environment.
  • Employee Relations Experience would be an added advantage.
  • Understanding of SHE Management Systems (ISO 14001 and 45001)
