Position Overview
The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic will be responsible for providing a service in respect of engineering maintenance and servicing for mobile and gen-set equipment.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
– Maintaining equipment using the appropriate maintenance technologies to ensure optimum availability of equipment/machines in the designated section, taking cognizance of standard operating procedures, safety directives and standards
– Performing over-inspections on tasks completed by apprentices, semi-skilled workers and artisan helpers and operatives, providing guidance if required, ensuring work quality
– Assessing equipment performance/condition and reporting all defects and anomalies identified
– Carrying out project related work according to set standards, plans and scheduled targets

Minimum Qualifications, Competencies and Experience Required
– National Craft Certificate in Heavy Mechanics/ Diploma in Heavy Mechanic engineering or any relevant qualification
– Minimum of 4 years in heavy vehicle mechanic role
– Experience in mining industry is preferred
