Job Description

The Guest Relations Concierge is entrusted with curating and delivering an exceptional, highly personalized guest journey. Acting as the principal point of contact from arrival to departure, this role ensures all front-of-house operations are seamless, intuitive, and aligned with the uncompromising luxury standards of Relais & Châteaux. The position combines elite hospitality hosting with professional sommelier practices to elevate the culinary and safari experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Bespoke Guest Experience: Proactive Personalization, Hosting & Orientations, Guide Allocation, Administration, Service Recovery.
• Front-of-House (FOH) & Dining Operations: Departmental Synergy, Lodge Presentation, Technical Precision, Stock Controls.
• Sommelier Services: Wine Program Execution, Curated Pairings, Guest Engagement.
• Leadership & Team Culture: Training & Mentorship, Performance Management, Succession Planning.

Requirements

• 3-5 years of experience within a luxury safari lodge, five-star hotel, private villa, or Relais & Châteaux property.
• Certified Sommelier qualification (WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, Cape Wine Academy, or equivalent).
• Advanced knowledge of luxury dining, menu composition, and premium beverage programs.
• Proficiency in guest management systems, property management systems (PMS), and administrative software.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities.
• Food & Wine Pairing certification: Train-the-Trainer qualification would be an added advantage.
