Key Responsibilities
- Review grant documents and agreements to understand the terms and conditions of the grant.
- Track grants and ensure they are used appropriately as per compliance guidelines.
- To identify, assess and mitigate potential risks and provide guidance and support on grant management to ensure adherence and compliance to the relevant laws, regulations and internal policies of the Grants.
- Develop and maintain grants risk Register and monitor implementation.
- Facilitates and promotes the understanding of operational risk management during grant implementation.
- Coordinates the implementation of the Ministry of Health grants co-financing commitments.
- Implement the Ministry of Health actions raised during the entire period of implementation.
- Conducts Implementing Partners Capacity Assessment and recommend appropriate actions.
- Conducts adhoc Audits at Implementing Partners and make recommendations to actions.
- Coordinates effective implementation of risk management processes during grant implementation.
- Contribute to the development of Funding Requests/proposals and Budget reprogramming; Stay updated on changes and priorities effected by the donor from time to time, track and share appropriate actions required.
- Document, analyze, and share learnings on best practice to improve effective grant implementation and compliance with donor rules, regulations and policies.
- Advise the Ministry of Health on risk management to comply with donor requirements.
- Conducts quarterly Supervisory Visits on implementing partners.
- Support the Principal Recipient on external donor audits.
- Carry out any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements
- At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB), Finance, Accounting, Audit, Business Administration, Risk Management or related field. A master’s degree is an added advantage.
- The ideal candidate should possess excellent project management skills and a strong understanding of grant regulations.
- Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in grant management, compliance or regulatory affairs, preferably within a non – profit, NGO, or government setting.
- A member in good standing of a recognized professional body, experience working with humanitarian and development donors will be an added advantage.
