 In its pursuit to become a Competitive Commercial Power Utility within the Region, Botswana Power Corporation invites applications from suitably qualified, highly energetic, dynamic, result oriented, innovative, and customer focused individuals, who believe they can be part of a great team that delivers power to Botswana to apply for the below listed position not later than 11th September 2024.

Main purpose of the position

To provide business system analysis, enhancements and functional support on the acquired business applications by developing & implementing strategic initiatives for improved efficiency and productivity and to meet and exceed business needs. The role is also responsible for designing and implementing improved processes or operational standards to facilitate successful delivery of business solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Plan business analysis approach & stakeholder engagement
  • Elicitation of business requirements & identify solutions that would meet business needs
  • Identify business performance improvements
  • Explores issues and/or needs to establish potential causes, related issues and barriers
  • Monitor overall performance of the Corporation’s systems
  • Identify & recommend for the appropriate systems per business area.
  • Plan & advise on the procurement of systems.
  • Provide training to end users & process owners on acquired systems.
  • Performs business process analysis using business expertise and understanding of functionality to enable the business to perform transactions in the most effective and efficient manner
  • Conducts the testing of solutions to ensure that the changes to the system have been done correctly and that they not negatively affecting other areas of the system
  • Manage relationships with important internal customers and act as their business partner, while taking guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Acts as a liaison between the business and technical development teams
  • Trains end-users and updates the SAP training system and training material to fairly represent a subset of the SAP production system so that customers are skilled in the current business processes and transactions.
  • Provides user support for logged problems and information requests to ensure that SAP end users are able to perform their duties and that the system performs properly.
  • Develop & monitor implementation of Service Level Agreements to ensure compliance.
  • Add users into the system & maintain the master data
  • Monitor data trends & insights & advise the relevant process owner for decision making
  • Collects data from relevant data sources, analyse it & advise on the appropriate action.
  • Quality assures data stored in data sources to ensure data integrity at all times
  • Plans, schedules & monitors progress for assigned projects
  • Identifies risks during project implementation & advise on the mitigation
  • Monitor project budget & timelines to ensure completion within budget & timeline.
  • Manage the delivery of outcomes to ensure that the project stays within scope

Qualifications

  • A recognized University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Business Administration or Equivalent.
  • Industry related certification e.g. SAP Certified Associate, Certified Business Analysis Professional, ITIL – OSA is required.

Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in an ICT environment, 3 of which should have been in business analysis, system development and application support.
