VACANCY CIRCULAR NO. 2 OF 2024
EXTERNAL ADVERTISEMENT
The Botswana Defence Force is looking to employ suitably qualified Non-Uniformed Personnel for the following positions:

CRAFTSMAN II B4 (REFRIGERATION & AIR CONDITIONING) X1 – TENABLE AT THEBEPHATSHWA AIR BASE

Qualifications: Trade Test C (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) or equivalent qualification

Experience: Two (2) years’ experience as Craft Improver A1 salary scale or equivalent role

Salary scale: B4 (P54, 612 – P62, 304) per annum

Leave: 20 working days per annum

Benefits:
a. Optional Contributory Medical Aid Scheme (Government pays 50% while employee pays 50%)
b. Contributory Pension Scheme (Government pays 15% while Employee pays 5%)
c. Housing and Upkeep Allowance of P398.80 per month

Job purpose: Prepare construction sites for fitting of cooling systems in the Botswana Defence Force buildings.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
a. Inspect and checks all appliances for faults.
b. Refill gas for all air conditioners in need.
c. Shovel materials to and from construction areas.
d. Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
e. Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the job site on a daily basis.
f. Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
g. Implement individual Performance Plan to ensure achievement of 94 CMR goals.
