EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES WITH KHOEMACAU COPPER MINING FOR THE FOLLOWING POSITIONS:

• CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION TECHNICIAN

These positions are based at the Mine Site located between Maun and Sehithwa in Ngamiland, therefore, you must still enjoy getting out on site and have the enthusiasm and interest to work in a remote location and in a multicultural work environment. Only Botswana citizens may apply.

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The incumbent will be responsible for executing, monitoring and co-ordinating cost-effective maintenance activities and installation of instrumentation and control equipment and services to ensure optimal equipment availability and reliability.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will be responsible for:
• Repairing and adjusting system components or removing and replacing defective parts.
• Installing control and measurement instruments on existing or new plant equipment.
• Identifying recurring problems and deriving creative solutions involving team members.
• Maintaining, installing, programming and diagnosing and repairing instrumentation equipment and power supply units and lines per planned maintenance and break down
work orders.
• Planning, implementing, controlling, and monitoring approved changes to area of responsibility by responding to changes in the industry, legislation, and other related matters including transformation and optimisation.
• Working with electronic control systems including microprocessors, sensors, and final control elements used in automated processes.
• Consulting manuals, reading, and interpreting circuit diagrams, blueprints, and schematic.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
• Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering
• A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience with process control instrumentation in a mining process plan environment.
• Experience with DCS and various plant PLC’s and drives.
OR
• National Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering or related trade qualification.
• A minimum of 10 years post qualification experience with process control instrumentation in a mining process plant environment.
• Experience with DCS and various plant PLC’s and drives.
