CONTRACTS OFFICER

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

To provide timely acquisition of goods and services in conformance with specifications and scope of works and within approved budget in order to provide support to Khoemacau Copper Mining (KCM) operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

You      will      be responsible for;

  • Confirming adequacy of scope of works or specifications upon submission by End Users
  • Preparing and issuing of Request for Proposals’Quotations.
  • Consolidating requirements in order to negotiate better prices and conditions
  • Participating in Tender Adjudications and recommendations for Awards
  • Preparing and issuing of award notifications and contracts to successful bidders
  • Developing and implementing Service Level Agreements
  • Posting tender award contract administration through to contract close out.
  • Developing and implementing contractors performance review meeting schedules
  • Ensuring conformance of goods/service provision to spedfication/scope of work.
  • Preparing and issuing of purchase order amendments and contract variations
  • Continuous monitoring and reviewing of contractors’ performance
  • Managing price variances and queries
  • Conducting periodic analysis of prices and costs to ensure cost containment
  • Identifying and recommending innovative ideas to encourage continuous improvement
  • Keeping records of all activities pertaining tor the procurement cyde and providing weekly reports on progress made on PO creation and expediting.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
  • Maintaining effective relationships with end users of goods, procurement and accounts receivable.
  • Complying with Company policies, procedures, standard operating procedures and code of conduct.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILL, AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • Mechanical Engineer (or similar) with good contracts background (preferred) or;
  • Degree in Supply Chain Management/Commercial Law
  • CIPS Level 5
  • 4 years’ experience in a similar role preferably in a mining/ construction industry.
  • Experience with working in an ERP environment.
  • Computer literate including Microsoft Office.
