Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the organization by creating, coordinating, and delivering clear and consistent internal and external communications, focusing on promoting a positive public image, strengthening relationships with media and stakeholders, and ensuring key messages align with the organization’s values and objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Plans, coordinates, and supervises activities relating to campaigns while ensuring compliance with the Authority’s communication and PR strategy and guidelines.
- Maintains records of and analyses ongoing and previous communication and PR campaigns, to ensure that targeted segments are being reached and that the main messages are going through.
- Plans, develops, updates, and distributes content such as articles, news and press releases, emails, social media posts, website material and other updates on behalf of the Authority.
- Reviews and approves all communications to ensure that all materials present a clear, unified, and positive image for the organization and/or brand.
- Assists in managing public relations and communication campaigns and negotiates service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure successful campaigns and value for money.
- Tracks and monitor the media to ensure that the Authority’s public image is reflected according to its communication and PR standards.
- Research and commissions market research, such as surveys and focus group, to have a more representative and deeper understanding and insights when conducting campaigns.
- Research and follows trends such as general social media trends, trends in the energy industry and trends followed by similar authorities.
- Coordinates with BERA’s department to receive communication and PR requests.
- Responds to media inquiries and arranges interviews and public appearances when needed.
- Looks for, seeks, and recommends opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising.
- Undertakes any other job as directed by supervisor.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience in Communication, Public Relations, or related fields.
- Relevant certification or membership with a professional registered body will be an added advantage.
