Job Description
Responsible for planning, developing, and managing internal and external communications to protect and enhance BERA’s reputation, ensuring consistent strategic messaging and building positive stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Leads, develops, and implements communication and PR policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with the Authority’s communication and PR standards.
- Oversees and manages events with press and public, associations, according to the communication and PR strategy, to ensure that BERA’s public image is being correctly reflected.
- Oversees the activities of subcontractors and suppliers in order to deliver successful public relations campaigns.
- Supports CEO and Directors in case of communication to media with the purpose of staying in line with BERA’s approved public image.
- Oversees the development of public relations and communication campaigns to achieve public relations and communications goals.
- Works with Directors to incorporate core values into meaningful language by reviewing BERA’s speech writing prior to communications.
- Contributes to stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders, finding out their concerns and reacting to these, by arranging meetings and events and drafting supporting materials to promote understanding and commitment.
- Writes drafts of and edits content, while ensuring compliance with the Authority’s guidelines to format and publish information on websites and in print.
- Develops and manages the Unit’s Risk Management plan.
- Lead the Authority’s Social Responsibility programs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields and a master’s would be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years’ post qualification experience in Communication, Public Relations, or related fields, with 3 years at management/supervisory level.
- Relevant certification or membership with a professional registered body is mandatory.
