Chief Information & Data Officer – Group

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to provide strategic leadership of the Group’s IT function, with a strong emphasis on retail systems excellence, digital transformation, and future-focused innovation. This role will lead the current implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 within the Distribution Centre alongside the existing IT executive, while defining and executing a long-term roadmap for enterprise-wide integration across retail stores and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a robust IT strategy aligned to the Group’s growth ambitions.
• Provide direction on technology adoption to support expansion, operational efficiency, and competitiveness.
• Oversee and support the ongoing deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 within the Distribution Centre.
• Define and execute a phased roadmap for broader Dynamics 365 integration across retail stores and business units.
• Ensure alignment between supply chain, finance, and retail operations through integrated systems architecture.
• Support the development of omnichannel capabilities and enhanced customer experience platforms.
• Build internal understanding and capability for AI integration into everyday business processes.
• Ensure reliable, secure, and scalable IT operations across all locations.
• Drive cybersecurity, data protection, and risk management initiatives.
• Build and lead a high-performing IT team with strong retail and systems expertise.
• Conduct periodic third-party risk assessments of key technology vendors.

Requirements

• 10-15 years’ IT experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in retail, FMCG, or multi-site environments.
• Direct experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation, particularly within supply chain or distribution environments.
• Demonstrated capability in scaling systems from single business units (e.g., DC) to enterprise-wide deployment.
• Working knowledge of AI technologies and their application in business environments.
