ASU OPERATION & MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (REF 022)

Oxygas is developing a medical and industrial gases manufacturing facility in Selibe Phikwe.The project entails installation, commissioning and operation of an air separation unit, acetylene plant and nitrous oxide plant The main objective is to develop a one stop industrial and medical gases production facility for supply of atmospheric and process gases in line with international quality standards.
Oxygas invites suitably qualified candidate to apply for the following position tenable in Selibe Phikwe:

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the technician is tasked with ensuring efficient and reliable operations 24 hours a day and are responsible for safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance and training of the ASU and any other equipment In the plant and upholding compliance with all plant safety and regulatory procedures.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

⦁ Performs operation and maintenance, including startup and shutdown of plant components and auxiliaries.
⦁ Performs operations in accordance with established SOPs and job safety standards.
⦁ Responds to abnormalities and take corrective actions consistent with established operating procedures and good engineering practice.
⦁ Assist in post installation and optimization of the ASU.
⦁ Conducts routine tours of the plant to inspect equipment, provides feedback to management and other employees.
⦁ Checks daily consumption rates of chemicals, water, and other consumables; monitors inventories and initiates action to replenish when appropriate.
⦁ Performs plant tagging of equipment in accordance with approved procedures and prudent operations and maintenance practices.
⦁ Develops, assists, and revises operations and maintenance related procedures Identify areas of improvement in the internal control and documentation control systems

⦁ Assists in developing and maintaining accuracy of shift operating logs, records, time sheets, work orders and other administrative documents related to plant operations.
⦁ Train and mentor other operations team members on general operation and maintenance of the ASU.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

⦁ Higher Secondary Education/ NCC qualification or equivalent
⦁ Minimum IS years in installation, commissioning, operation & maintenance of ASUs with expansion engines experience
⦁ Experience in supervision and training of operation of Oxygen and nitrogen production plants
