Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator – Mechanical, the Artisan Rigger will carry out safe lifting and movement of loads and plant machinery and inspecting and servicing lifting equipment including winding equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Rigging and scaffold services
• Maintenance of mechanical equipment
• Statutory inspections and load tests on all rigging and lifting equipment
• Operates mine machinery
• Safety, health, and environment compliance

Requirements

• BGCSE or equivalent qualification plus a valid Trade Certificate in Rigging
• Minimum 5 years practical experience, with at least 3 years in a mining or heavy industrial plant environment, including inspection of equipment
• At least 3 years minimum experience on DC Double Drum Winders
• Experience in performing front ends and back ends winder rope inspections
• Knowledge of lifting/rigging equipment
• Truck crane operation – added advantage
• Mobile crane operation – added advantage
• Experience in working on winder ropes
• Valid Class B Driver’s License
