Reporting to the Foreman Mechanical, the Artisan Fitter will be responsible for maintaining underground fixed plant equipment according to sound engineering practices and equipment specifications to ensure their safe and effective operation to meet underground mining production targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspections, maintenance and diagnosis of faults and issues of fixed plant equipment
• Work in progress inspections
• Recommending suitable maintenance and repair interventions to enhance performance and safety
• Safety, health, and environmental compliance

Requirements

• BGCSE or equivalent qualification plus a valid Trade Certificate in Maintenance Fitting or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a mining environment
• At least 3 years minimum experience on DC Double Drum Winders
• Experience with ABB winder controls and leaky feeder communication systems
• Knowledge of Scamont SP200 pumps
• Experience in water reticulation and/or handling equipment in an underground mining environment will be an added advantage
• Class B Driver’s License
