Key Responsibilities

• Producing and checking mechanical, structural, civil and piping engineering drawings.
• Developing engineering concepts into detailed design and construction documentation.
• Conducting site surveys and verifying existing plant conditions.
• Producing modification, refurbishment and brownfield engineering drawings.
• Coordinating drawings across engineering disciplines.
• Maintaining drawing quality and compliance with applicable engineering standards and project specifications.
• Providing technical draughting support during fabrication and construction.
• Assisting with drawing-office coordination and development of junior personnel.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Draughting and Design Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or an equivalent recognised technical qualification.
• A minimum of 10 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in engineering design and draughting, preferably within the mining, mineral processing, heavy industrial or engineering consulting environment.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D modelling.
• Demonstrable experience in multidisciplinary engineering design covering mechanical, structural steelwork, civil works and piping.
• Ability to interpret engineering concepts, specifications, sketches, P&IDs and other technical information and develop these into detailed engineering and fabrication/construction drawings.
