Key Responsibilities
(i) Maintaining an accurate and up to date inventory and maintaining a safe, highly functional learning environment ;
(ii) Oversee the cataloguing, maintenance, and booking of audio-visual equipment, including cameras, lighting kits, sound recorders, and editing suites ;
(iii) Set up, test, and troubleshoot hardware and software used in film, television, radio, and digital media production ;
(iv) Ensure Media Studies studios, editing suites, and media labs are clean, organized, and fully operational to support teaching and learning;
(v) Enforce safety protocols in studios, ensuring all equipment is handled correctly ;
(vi) maintaining and up-to date inventory of departmental equipment and report any faults;
(vii) Carrying out risk assessments for technical activities on a daily basis;
(viii) Demonstrate and monitor equipment or materials for experiments to students and researchers;
(ix) Communicate effectively to understand laboratory or workshop requirements and help accordingly;
(x) Maintain a clean and organized laboratory/ workshop/ studio environment following health and safety protocols and guidelines;
(xi) Participate in the identification and mitigation of operational risks;
(xii) Respond to customer/ stakeholder queries and inquiries related to area of expertise;
(xiii) Collaborate with other units as needed to effectively deliver duties as defined;
(xiv) Actively engage with the professional community to support and develop expertise in area of profession;
(xv) Comply with relevant regulations and legislation and
(xvi) Undertake any other duties as directed by the supervisor/Line Manager/Head of School in line with their role.
Requirements
(i) A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Media studies, Media Production, Broadcasting, Audio-Visual Technology, Journalism, or a closely related relevant field .
Added advantages :
(i) at least 2 years of experience working in a media production environment, broadcasting facility, or educational media department ;
(ii) Strong working knowledge of industry-standard gear and software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, DaVinci Resolve, Pro Tools, Advanced camera systems) ;
(iii) Postgraduate qualification.

(i) Excellent problem-solving abilities, strong organizational skills, and the capacity to explain technical concepts to beginners
(ii) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders;
(iii) Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment;
(iv) Ability to operate and troubleshoot various educational technologies and equipment;
(v) Evidence of ensuring accuracy in preparation of materials and grading.
