Job Summary

The Debt Collection Tracer is responsible for identifying and locating debtors who have defaulted on their payments. This role involves researching and utilizing various tools and resources to track down debtors.

Job Details

• Utilize databases, credit reports, and other resources to locate missing debtors
• Contact debtors through phone calls, emails, and written correspondence to locate clients and discuss outstanding debts.
• Document all communication with debtors in collection system accurately.
• Maintain up-to-date records of tracing efforts and account statuses.
• Work closely with other team members, including collectors, legal teams, and management.
• Coordinate with third-party agencies, if necessary, for further collection efforts.

Requirements

• Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
• A Bachelor’s Degree is an added advantage.
• Proven experience in debt collection, finance, or customer service is beneficial
• Familiarity with data collection tools and tracing resources (e.g., skip tracing)
• Awareness of customer conduct and fair treatment principles.
• Awareness of regulatory frameworks: NBFIRA, Bank of Botswana, AML/CTF, Data Protection
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and reports
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software applications.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Resilient and able to handle challenging conversations and high-pressure situations.
• Ethical mindset with a strong understanding of fair debt collection practices.
