Botswana Railways invites suitably qualified citizens with a proven track record to apply for the position of Occupational Health Nurse, tenable in Mahalapye. The successful candidate will report directly to the Health & Wellness Manager in the Corporate Services Department.

Main Purpose of the Job

  • Manage occupational injuries/illnesses, return-to-work assessments and rehabilitation.
  • Conduct and facilitate medical surveillance for employees (pre-employment, periodic, pre-placement and exit medicals).
  • Provide primary healthcare services to employees at the Botswana Railways Clinic.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Provide first aid, emergency care and referrals as required.
  • Support chronic disease management and employee health monitoring.
  • Promote health and wellness activities for employees.
  • Provide psychosocial support to employees and refer accordingly.
  • Work collaboratively with other stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidential medical records and prepare reports as required.

Position Requirements

Educational Qualifications

  • Minimum Diploma in General Nursing.
  • Minimum Diploma in Occupational Health.

Professional Membership

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Botswana.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years post-qualification experience as a Registered Nurse and/or Occupational Health Nurse in an occupational health setting or a similar role.
