Job Overview

Lobatse Clay Works (LCW) is inviting applications from qualified and experienced
candidates for the position of Forklift Driver. The successful candidate will be
responsible for operating the forklift efficiently and safely within the brick
manufacturing plant. This includes supporting daily production activities such as
loading, transporting raw materials, and general yard operations.

The role requires adherence to safety standards, equipment care, and cooperation
with the operations team to ensure smooth production flow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the forklift safely and efficiently to load, transport, stack, and offload materials.
  • Move raw materials, finished products, and pallets to designated storage or operational areas.
  • Assist in loading and unloading trucks and deliveries as required.
  • Ensure accurate handling and movement of materials to support production operations.
  • Conduct daily pre-start inspections and routine equipment checks.
  • Maintain accurate daily records of equipment usage, fuel consumption, and materials moved.
  • Ensure greasing and basic maintenance of the forklift as required.
  • Report equipment faults, damages, breakdowns, or unsafe conditions promptly.
  • Comply with all company safety regulations, operational procedures, and workplace policies.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards by keeping work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
  • Coordinate with the Shift Supervisor and production team to ensure smooth workflow and operations.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience operating a forklift in a production, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
  • Valid Forklift Operator Certificate or License.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
  • Basic knowledge of forklift maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Good understanding of occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Physically fit and capable of working in outdoor and industrial conditions.
