Job Description

Coca-Cola Beverages Botswana is seeking a Trade Marketing Specialist to drive sales growth, improve merchandising, and enhance customer engagement through strategic trade marketing activations.

Reporting to Revenue Growth and Trade Marketing Director, the role is responsible for driving sales growth, improve merchandising and product visibility, enhance customer engagement, and ensure efficient resource utilization through successful trade marketing activations and strategic initiatives

Key Responsibilities

  • Execution of brand and trade strategies: Ensure the effective execution of trade marketing activities and category management strategies whilst contributing to consumer engagement events and promotional activities to optimize brand portfolio performance and increase market share.
  • Optimized marketing investments: Implement regional activations to maximize ROI whilst continuously analyzing and adjusting trade marketing efforts for improved effectiveness and cost-efficiency.
  • Trade marketing continuous improvement: Address execution challenges in trade marketing activities by ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to quality standards, and supporting ongoing process improvements for enhanced efficiency.
  • Effective merchandising and category management: Ensure alignment across stakeholders, the effective execution of trade marketing and category management tactics, implementation of consumer engagement events, and continuous process improvements to optimize brand performance and maximize ROI.
  • Stakeholder alignment for execution: Collaborate with cross-functional teams and regional sales to align trade marketing activities with brand and marketing strategies, and coordinate with external partners for flawless execution of promotional campaigns

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing or related field

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience in marketing within the FMCG industry, preferably with exposure to trade marketing and category development
  • Proven experience in executing regional trade activations and consumer engagement events
  • Experience in budget management and data analysis, supporting marketing investment decisions
  • Exposure to merchandising and product placement strategies in retail environments

Skills

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret trade marketing performance data and provide insights for optimization
  • Project management capabilities to support smooth execution of regional trade marketing activities
  • Budget management skills to efficiently allocate resources and maximize ROI
  • Collaboration skills to work effectively with sales, marketing teams, and external partners for seamless execution
  • Proficiency in utilizing consumer insights to shape trade marketing strategies
