Job Description
Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities
1. Lead the development and implementation of a PR, communications and marketing strategy to build and maintain a positive brand image and increase public awareness of the organisation and its products and services.
2. Manage market planning and communications including promotions, market research and competitor analysis.
3. Hold regular meetings within the Department to review strategy and agree on departmental objectives.
4. Develops key performance indicators for marketing services.
5. Collaborate with Operations and Strategy and Customer Excellence departments on the development and implementation of national and regional marketing plans, promotions and campaigns for all of the organisation’s products and services.
6. Collaborate with Operation’s Strategy and Excellence and Finance departments to price new products and services in order to maximise return on investment while furthering the organisation’s mandate and strategy.
7. Collaborate with Operation’s and Strategy and Excellence on the development of new product and service offerings.
8. Oversee the development, implementation and evaluation of marketing campaigns and product and organisational branding by internal and external resources.
9. Ensure effective participation of marketing division at trade shows/exhibitions and other promotional events locally, regionally and internationally where relevant.
10. Highlights areas of variation from budget and recommends strategies for improving performance where necessary.
11. Manage and present the annual review of tariffs for core postal products to Executive Management & other Government officials as requested.
12. Liaise with relevant product drivers in order to derive projected budgets.
13. Work with relevant peers to collect required data in order to prepare annual Cabinet Memorandum on proposed tariffs.
14. Work with relevant managers to obtain and present financial data on monthly, quarterly and annual product performance, analyse the same and present deviations and recommend remedial action where necessary.
15. Work with Operations department to promote, maintain and maximise the utilisation of the Management Information Systems (MIS) in the provision of marketing services e.g. for market research, data collection analysis and interpretation.
16. Work with the Compliance and Internal Audit Managers to ensure compliance to standards and participation in quality and other audits.
17. Develop strategies to promote a national culture of savings and financial prudency through public education and the availability of appropriate savings products.
18. Oversee the development and implementation of the organisation’s corporate social responsibility initiatives.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Corporate Communications, Media Studies or related area
Master’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Corporate Communications, Media Studies or related area is highly preferred.
Experience: Eight (8) years’ of relevant experience in public relations, marketing, communication, media studies or related area (preferably with a financial institution) including three (3) years          of management experience.
Demonstrable experience across public relations, marketing and communication is essential.
